The Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation is an independent charity established to raise funds for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, to eradicate obstetric fistula using the Hamlin Model of Care.

Yes. Dr Catherine Hamlin was our Founder and Patron. Catherine passed away in March 2020 at age 96. We exist to fulfil her vision to eradicate fistula. Forever.

U.S. based supporters can make tax deductible contributions to Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation through its Friends Fund at Myriad USA (formerly King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS). Because Myriad is a public charity, within the meaning of Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the IRC, donors may claim the maximum tax benefits allowed by U.S. tax law for their contributions.

Canada-based friends and supporters can make tax deductible donations in Canada to support Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia. Donors will receive a tax receipt from Myriad Canada. Myriad Canada (formerly KBF Foundation Canada), Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia and the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation are working together to raise funds in Canada for treatment of obstetric fistula injuries at Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital.

Donations made online in the USA will immediately receive a receipt by email from Every.org

Write your check to Myriad USA, write "Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation Friends Fund" in the memo section of the check, and send it to Myriad USA, 551 Fifth Avenue, Suite 2400, New York, NY 10176.

Donors in Canada will receive a tax receipt from Myriad Canada.

For every $1 donated, 70 cents goes directly towards Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s programs for the treatment and prevention of obstetric fistula, 13 cents is necessary for accountability and administration and 17 cents is invested in fundraising efforts which allows us to help even more women in future years.

Our funding for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia comes from voluntary contributions made by individual donors, foundations, businesses, community organisations and schools throughout Australia, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, USA and Canada.

Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation works hard to ensure that the highest possible percentage of all donations received is spent on programs to treat and prevent obstetric fistula. 

In FY24, for every $1 donated:

• 68 cents goes directly towards Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia's programs for the treatment and prevention of obstetric fistula,
• 13 cents is necessary for accountability and adminstration, and
• 19 cents in invested in fundraising efforts which allow us to help even more women in future years.

Yes, the financial accounts are independently audited annually.
